da apostaganha: Liverpool were heavily linked with Nabil Fekir over the summer, and their lack of creativity at times so far this season shows they are crying out for someone to replace Philippe Coutinho and play that number 10 role in behind Roberto Firmino.
Lyon captain Fekir, who generally plays just behind a main striker, had already had his photos taken in the Liverpool kit and had been interviewed by the in-house media teams in the summer, but the Merseyside club then walked away from the reported £53m deal.
Liverpool though already have the answer in their squad, and boss Jurgen Klopp must take advantage by pushing Georginio Wijnaldum further forward from his current central midfield role. The Dutchman proved last Saturday that he has the ability to create and score goals at the top level, with a brilliant solo goal in the Netherlands’ 3-0 win over Germany.
The 27-year-old has really stepped his game up so far this season after the arrivals of Naby Keita and Fabinho in the summer, but it is now time to give him a chance in a position more similar to the one he took up at Newcastle.
So, Liverpool fans, would you like to see Wijnaldum moved into the number 10 role or is a new signing needed? Have your say by voting in the poll below.
