da gbg bet: Mark Lawrenson has revealed that Liverpool are ‘regretting every single minute’ that they failed to sign Dele Alli before Tottenham Hotspur.
da heads bet: The 21-year-old midfielder has become a pivotal part of Mauricio Pochettino’s team since his arrival in the summer of 2015.
This season in particular he has helped Spurs push Chelsea in the Premier League title race by scoring 16 goals and providing six assists in 30 appearances.
His influence at such a young age has attracted plenty of praise from fans and pundits alike, but Alli could have been wearing the red of Liverpool, according to Lawrenson.
It is believed that the Merseyside outfit ended up calling off the deal and then Spurs swooped in with a £5m offer, which MK Dons accepted.
It was agreed that Alli would finish the 2014-15 season on loan with the Dons before joining up with his new club.
While speaking to you-are-the-ref.com, Lawrenson revealed:
“He was going to Liverpool. It was absolutely all done and sorted but Liverpool had a change of heart the next day. It was a change a heart over money rather than the actual boy. They are regretting it every single minute of every single day.
“He’s a player isn’t he, as in he’s one of those lucky lads who can be anything that he wants to be but he also has that little bit of edge about him.”
