After their latest loss against Leicester on Saturday afternoon, West Ham have now lost their last four Premier League games at home. It’s certainly not a run to be proud of, and one that undoubtedly led to Manuel Pellegrini leaving the club immediately after the game.

One area that they have been desperately week in whilst the Chilean was in charge, is at the back. The side have conceded a total of 32 goals – a tally that is only better than four other teams. And one man who produced a particularly disappointing display against Leicester, was Issa Diop. The centre-back looked all at sea during the game, with his positioning for the Foxes’ second goal certainly eye-brow raising to say the least.
Did he really play for us?! No West Ham fan has managed to name all of these obscure Irons signings….
And as per Sofascore, he failed to make any interceptions, made just one tackle and had a measly 73% pass accuracy. After seeing his performance, Hammers fans flooded to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the Frenchman.
A couple of supporters took aim at Diop’s approach to defending during the clash, with one fan suggesting he was “all over the place” whilst another criticised his tendency to making poor challenges in midfield.
A couple of fans even suggested Diop could leave the London Stadium based on his performances so far, with one fan in particular labelling him as “one of the most overrated players in the league”.
Diop’s struggles against Leicester arguably epitomised West Ham’s difficulties as a whole this season, with the French defender being unable to hit his top form. If the centre-back continues to disappoint, then the Hammers’ descent into even more peril looks ever morel likely.
Meanwhile, West Ham fans have earmarked this man to potentially take over from Manuel Pellegrini.
