da premier bet:
da brwin: Football London’s Tottenham Hotspur correspondent Alasdair Gold has poured cold water on the chances of the club making a late window swoop for Southampton captain Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg on Twitter.Sky Sports had tweeted themselves on Thursday afternoon that Spurs were ready to make an audacious last-gasp move for the Saints skipper, but Gold has denied their interest in making a bid for the former Bayern Munich man.
The journalist also went on to say that he doesn’t believe that the south coast outfit would consider letting him leave even if someone did come in, and he’s certainly got a point about a player teammate Angus Gunn labelled as a “great leader” in an interview with The Daily Echo last year.
The Denmark international may have less than 18 months remaining on his contract at St Mary’s, but Ralph Hasenhuttl would have no time to replace the 24-year-old if he let him leave on the final day of the transfer window.
The big fat Tottenham quiz of 2019 – how much do you remember about the last year at Spurs?
Question marks would surely also need to be raised as to whether Tottenham actually need a central midfielder player given the options they currently have there, including the likes of Harry Winks, Tanguy Ndombele and Eric Dier. Giovani Lo Celso is also capable of playing in a deeper role.
