AC Milan senior advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic has provided an update on the Serie A team's hunt for Manchester City star Kyle Walker.

After City boss Pep Guardiola revealed right-back Walker wants to leave the Premier League side, the 34-year-old has been linked with a move to Milan. Now, Ibrahimovic has admitted the England international is a "top player", a "big leader" and that the Serie A team are "checking" if a transfer is possible.

He told DAZN: "Everyone knows that Walker is a great player, he did great things at City. When there is someone like him on the market there is a lot of interest. It doesn't go against our vision because he is strong, he is a leader, he has dominance in the dressing room. Now we are checking if it is possible."

After more than seven years at City, where he has won a hatful of trophies and become one of the best right-backs in the world, Walker's time at the Etihad is drawing to a close. Fabrizio Romano claims the former Tottenham man is expected to join Milan "in the next few days."
