da roleta: Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after Fulham made fun of their decision to sack Roy Hodgson and appoint Kenny Dalglish.
In a regular section of the Cottagers’ matchday programme called ‘The List’, in which they mull over three people who would perhaps have been better served staying at the club, the west London outfit aimed a number of insults at the Reds.
It was Fulham who Hodgson was in charge of before Liverpool came calling, where he then endured a terrible time in charge at Anfield before being sacked having won just seven of his 20 league games in charge.
The aforementioned article in the programme reads: “Realising that Roy was not going to win the league immediately and angered by his failure to buy the world’s best players, who would obviously jump at the chance to sign for the team that had dominated Europe a mere three decades earlier, fans quickly lost patience.
“Setting the time circuits to 1991, the club’s executives piled into the waiting DeLorean and floored it to ’88, returning with a fresh-faced and energetic Kenny Dalglish, ready to usher in a new era of dominance spearheaded by future club legend Andy Carroll, a shrewd purchase at just £35m.”
It can’t be denied that Hodgson’s time in charge of Liverpool was a complete and utter failure, but Fulham have shown a huge lack of respect towards Dalglish in their programme for the recent 2-1 loss to Chelsea.
Obviously, given his legendary status at the club, Liverpool fans on Twitter weren’t going to stand by and allow their Premier League rivals speak so poorly of Dalglish…
